Mature Age Exemption:

Candidates who have attempted matric/Grade 12 or reached the age of 23 before or during the first year of registration may be considered for admission.


Work experience may also be considered.

Higher Certificate in Digital
Marketing – Online

This qualification is driven through practical applications. Students will be given real life, practical skills to maneuver the technicalities of the platforms they will be taught about.

The Higher Certificate in Digital Marketing aims to empower individuals who would like to enter the marketing and communications industry with basic working knowledge of all elements of digital marketing, leverage these effectively, and be able to perform basic digital marketing communication functions. Students will also learn how to use a wide variety of technological and digital platforms to target today’s digital-savvy consumer.

Through this Higher Certificate in Digital Marketing qualification, students will be provided with the opportunity to be equipped with the requisite fundamental knowledge enough to be employable in entry-level positions in the digital marketing and communications industry. More specifically, they may be employed in the marketing and advertising divisions of an organisation, supporting marketing and communication managers. Upon attainment of the  Higher Certificate in Digital Marketing qualification, students may consider continuing to pursue a relevant diploma, with credits, or admission to a degree at the AAA or other tertiary institutions. Furthermore, the introduction of ICTs into many aspects of society has led to the development of the modern-day concept of digital marketing in today’s evolving business world together with the importance of ethics and ethical behaviour in the digital landscape.

ICT applications, such as e-commerce and social media, provides a platform for businesses to market their products and services to a wider audience. The role of this qualification is to further entrench students into a specialist area of knowledge, in this case, digital marketing with a view to sharpening those skills in this domain that will put them on the cutting edge in the marketing domain. This will make graduates of this program employable, not only on a local, but also on a global technological scale. Students will be instilled with knowledge in a selected area using specialised concepts and principles learnt in this program, to evaluate and demonstrate knowledge as well as processes and techniques of knowledge production.
